The number one choice of Colorado's students serving in state players and giving them a chance to represent the state. Couldn't be more proud. you don't have to have the 200th best player from Cali as some folks at orher places would have you believe!

let's get real. He is not from Vegas. Bishop Gorman is the school that recruits all the kids for California. He is leaving Vegas because the rest of the team are not very good.

C'mon man, don't use that lame excuse of we lost because of the umpires.
Their were questionable calls both ways but, Grandview found a way to overcome them and still win the game, that's what good teams do. McDermott pitched a very good game but Grandview still hit the ball hard and Smoky played well defensively. Grandview Senior Pitcher Spencer Johnson was just as dominant if not more so during the game. 6 IP, 4 H, 1 run You are right about one thing though, it was a great game and Smoky Hill played very well but Grandview still won the game and deserves to be moving on.

Grandview was dominated by Sophmore Pitcher JR McDermitt. If not for a couple bad calls from the Umpires, the Buffs would be moving on and the wolves would be out. Great game, and good luck to Grandview.

Leave the non conference games out of it. Some schools simply can't afford to tavel and play in tournaments or other far away games that give them those "special" wildcard points and if they can that's their choice. Making it to the playoffs should be based on wins and losses for conference games only and at the end of the day let the playoffs determine the best team wihout all this "fluff" of wildcard points.

I am always excited to see athletes going to school but it concerns me when they commit so early. I do realize that the agreement is not set in stone but there are so many unknowns when athletes commit so early. Congrats to Mr Anderson!

Is it the goal of CHSSA to even the ground as to spread out the champions? Really CHSSA should focus on making it a fun, safe, life lesson fostering experience for student athletes. If you make this rule, you tip your hand as a governing body simply focused on winning rather than where the focus should be. Great article Ryan.

My son was recruited by a public 5A school, a public 4A school and a Charter 3A school for football. He attended a private 3A school of which he was not recruited by choice. You will not stop recruiting with this rule. You will only expose the problem in the public schools by taking away your only scapegoat. By the way, "Permitting in" causes the same issues in public school. That is how the schools recruited my son.

Angelico is on top of this issue and is totally right to have the discussions where they should be, at CHSSA board meetings. It has long been known that some private schools do use the money figure to lure athletes and parents, unlike Mr Hansburg may have you believe. Some schools have athletic committees that will attend specific sports events in search of better athletes. They have been known to bring up the monetary figure in discussions with these chosen athletes and there families. May be CHSSA should ask if there should be just a league for Private schools and let them compete against each other.

I think this is great for Colorado Football. Love or hate Valor this helps recruiting big time for Colorado football. Hopefully more Colorado programs can get out of state competition to play Colorado teams.
